Joyce Hollingsworth (Sonja Smits) is an ambitious businesswoman who will do whatever it takes to protect her cosmetic company’s reputation. So, when she discovers her teenage daughter, Katherine (Alex Paxton-Beesley), is pregnant by her unimpressive boyfriend, Chuck (Gabriel Venneri), Joyce forbids Katherine from telling Chuck about the pregnancy and ultimately tells Katherine her baby died during delivery while secretly instructing the attending doctor to place the baby girl up for adoption. Twenty years later, Katherine is happily married to a successful Chuck. Their ideal life is turned upside down, though, as they desperately search for a bone marrow donor who can save their young daughter, Haley (Zoe Sarantakis), who is dying from leukemia. Unwilling to see her grandchild suffer knowing Haley has a donor match in her biological sister, Joyce tracks down Katherine’s firstborn child, who has been adopted and named Libby (Madelyn Keys). Struggling to afford to stay in college, Libby accepts Joyce’s lucrative offer to be Haley’s bone marrow donor on the condition of complete anonymity, not realizing Joyce is her biological grandmother and Haley is her biological sister. As Libby and Haley prepare for surgery, Joyce works overtime to ensure the doctors and nurses do not reveal Libby’s identity to Katherine. But when Joyce’s lie spirals out of control, Katherine puts the pieces together and must confront her controlling mother once and for all if she hopes to save both her daughters.
